1. Video & Audio Processing (Crucial)

We value your privacy regarding your personal content. Please be aware of the following:

Local Processing: All video compression, format conversion, audio extraction, and frame extraction processes are performed locally on your device.
No Uploads: We do not upload your original videos, converted files, or extracted images to any cloud server. Your content never leaves your device's storage environment solely for the purpose of processing.

2. Permissions We Request

To function properly, VidKit requires the following permissions:

Storage (Read/Write): Required to access the videos you want to compress/convert and to save the output files to your device.
Foreground Service: Required to process videos in the background so you can use other apps while VidKit works.
Internet Access: Required for loading advertisements (AdMob, AppLovin), processing In-App Purchases, and sending anonymous analytics data.

3. Data Collection & Third-Party Services

While we do not collect personal data (like names or emails) directly, we use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you strictly for analytics, advertising, and app functionality purposes.

A. Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics (Google)

We use Firebase to understand how users interact with our app and to fix stability issues. Data collected includes:

Device information (Model, OS version, Country).
App usage data (Screens visited, buttons clicked, session duration).
Crash logs (to help us fix bugs).
User Properties: We may classify users as "VIP" or "Free" to optimize the app experience.

B. Advertising (AdMob & AppLovin)

We serve advertisements to maintain the free version of the app. These services may collect:

Advertising ID (GAID).
Coarse location data.
Performance data of ads (Clicks, Impressions).

C. In-App Purchases (Google Play Billing)

If you purchase the PRO version (Monthly, Yearly, or Lifetime), the transaction is handled entirely by Google Play. We do not store your credit card or banking information. We only receive a transaction receipt to unlock PRO features.

This software uses code of FFmpeg licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 3 (or later).

Ownership: VidKit does not claim ownership of the FFmpeg software. FFmpeg is a trademark of Fabrice Bellard, originator of the FFmpeg project.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Since we do not store your personal data or video files on our servers, there is no data for us to delete. If you wish to opt-out of Analytics or Advertising tracking, you can do so via your device settings (Reset Advertising ID) or by purchasing the PRO version to remove ads.

6. Children’s Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
